Canailles de Panam' is a project founded by Mezzo-Soprano Joanne Calmel. Her operatic voice combines french popular songs with tango music. The music performed by the ensemble is made of original songs by Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel and Léo Ferré arranged for Mezzo-soprano, Violin, Bandoneon and Cello by Chloë Pfeiffer, Léonardo Teruggi and Roger Helou.
The musicians Anne Le Pape (Violin), Carmela Delgado (Bandoneon) and Sabine Balasse (Cello) often play chamber music together, as well as with Tango groups, such as Las Malenas and Orquestra Silbando from Paris. They also know Joanne Calmel for many years and are excited to gather together for the unusual and unique project Canailles de Panam'.
